Jamie Roa

Jamie Roa is a graduate of the London School of Economics who is pursuing a career in Public Health Policy with a focus on community health, epidemiology, and emergency preparedness. 

I am a public health professional with extensive experience in health policy, research, and program development. My academic background includes a Master of Science in Global Health Policy from the London School of Economics and a dual degree in Political Science and Public Health from Tulane University. These studies have equipped me with strong analytical and research skills that I’ve applied throughout my career.

I’ve contributed to impactful public health initiatives in roles at the Maryland Department of Health, Johns Hopkins Hospital, and FODO. At the Maryland Department of Health, I focused on improving maternal health outcomes and expanding healthcare access for women, utilizing evidence-based strategies and data-driven insights. My work at Johns Hopkins Hospital provided valuable clinical research experience, while at FODO, I analyzed epidemiological data to inform policy recommendations.

I am skilled in statistical analysis, program evaluation, and stakeholder engagement. I excel at synthesizing complex data into actionable insights, presenting findings to diverse audiences, and managing collaborative projects involving multiple partners.

In addition, I have experience supporting grant applications, understanding funder requirements, and ensuring compliance with organizational and funding policies. My proficiency in Spanish and certifications in essential epidemiological tools further enhance my ability to work effectively in diverse, cross-cultural settings.

I am deeply committed to reducing health inequalities and improving population health through innovative, evidence-based approaches, and I strive to make a meaningful impact in every role I undertake.
