My role in this is to provide care to adults who have a range of disabilities such as helping with personal care, feeding, bathing or clothing them or to simply engage in conversation with them.

Home Carer-Grimsby-February 2024 to April 2024

I have worked as a home carer delivering care to a variety of different service users, ensuring they were fed, watered, clean and comfortable. At the beginning of my training I was shown how to use a hoist but wasn’t needed as part of the jobs I was doing.

Covid-19 Tester-York, North Yorkshire-January 2021 to April 2021

I had to follow all rules in place to ensure the public where kept safe and to keep them informed of what was happening at the current time. At the time, the site was extremely busy so had to be prepared to give out advice to the public and show them how to be tested for the virus. Whilst doing this, safety measures had to be carried out such as, the appropriate distance between me and the customer, cleanliness of the work place and maintaining a high level of safety for myself by wearing the correct PPE. I gave outinstructions such as how to test, where to test and how to prepare the swabs for testing as this was crucial. It was a very specific role to work in but was able to get everything done.

Personal Carer-Grimsby, Lincolnshire-January 2018 to March 2021

I also cared for my mum who lost all of her main abilities, in which I was a carer and had to maintain her everyday needs which included administering her medication, personal care such as feeding and bathing and shop for her. In my experience, at first I found this difficult to come to terms with but gradually learnt and progressed to be self sufficient from a young age.
