Jay Tamburrini

I am 22 years old and studying Risk Management at Glasgow Caledonian University (predicted 2:1 by September 2022).

I am a disciplined and a hard-working person who would be beneficial to any company. I can complete tasks on my own whist under pressure as well as in a group. I am also a keen and fast learner who would give you the opportunity to train to be the person you want me to be. I will come into the role to start contributing to your objectives immediately. 

Store Operations and Customer Assistant at Marks & Spencer’s (2016 – September 2021)

Primarily I ensured that customers enter a well-stocked store. One of our primary goals is that we have the right products on display in the right places, all the time. To achieve this, I worked on the following tasks:

• Processing stock coming into the store to ensure that it is available to customers at store opening.  Therefore, I worked in an extremely efficient and timely manner.
• Managing deliveries, the stock must then be organised and stored in an effective system to allow shop floor staff quick access. 
• I carried out quality control to ensure that the stock was not damaged or missing.
• I also took part in activities on the sales floor too, working directly with the customers. This allows me to support the customers and meet their needs, but also working in the with staff to understand their needs when organizing the deliveries for them to stack the shelves. Therefore, increasing my team working skills. 
• This role also allowed me to keep fit though lifting and manual handing of large and bulky deliveries, unloading them, and loading them onto the HGV’s. 
• I was also an entrusted key holder. This meant that I maintained a set of keys to access the store – locking up at night or opening in the morning. Usually, an activity entrusted to management I have been put in the highly trusted position to also be a key holder. 
• I also helped with the cash pick up in the evening. 
• I have successfully completed manual handling and health and safety courses.

Forth view golf range (September 2021- Present)

I currently work part time at Forthview golf range in Airth. 

My duties include:

• Collecting the golf balls in the morning prior to opening. 
• Washing the golf balls, before redistributing them into the ball dispenser. 
• Setting up the Toptracer tracking systems.
• General upkeep of the golf range. 
• Working at the front desk, handling cash. 
• I am also a key holder. This means I open the golf range in the morning or close in the evening. 

I am studying Risk Management at Glasgow Caledonian University, where I am due to finish studying by September 2022 (predicted 2:1). 

Throughout my time studying at university I have gained invaluable theoretical knowledge about processes and the management of risk. I understand the importance of always having an effective strategy and risk management plan in place before starting a project in order to mitigate potential hazards which might negatively affect the ability to achieve targets and objectives.
