Jeff Mapps

Jeff is a former police officer with more than 30 years’ experience working with local communities and statutory bodies. He moved into community relations and stakeholder management for Costain in 2017 and in 2021 to FCC Construcción, working closely with senior leadership teams to deliver strategic engagement programmes that support local, regional and national objectives. 

• Developing stakeholder engagement strategies, focusing on influencing decision makers and opinion formers. 
• Engaging with clients to ensure that their vision and values are demonstrated to the project delivery.
• Leading events locally and throughout Wales and the West of England to help foster long-term professional relationships with key influencers such as MPs, MSs and other key public figures.
• Organising and developing project events, such as public exhibitions, opening ceremonies, visitor and educational activities.
• Supporting the client in all community-related matters, including speaking at public events.
• Using offline and online communication channels, including social media, to communicate key messages and updates.
• Developing opportunities to promote milestones and achievements. 
• Formulating responses to queries from media organisations.
• Chairing public meetings and Local Authority Liaison meetings, acting as the public face of the project.
• Engaging with landowners to negotiate leases and resolve queries.
• Managing projects Considerate Constructor Scheme submissions and site visits.

Educated to O Level standard.
