About Jennifer Garnett:

I am an ambitious and motivated 18-year-old seeking to begin my career journey through a customer service apprenticeship. Having recently finished my education, I am eager to step into a professional environment where I can learn, contribute, and develop both personally and professionally. I am particularly drawn to customer service because I enjoy helping people, solving problems, and creating positive experiences.

Although I am still at the beginning of my career, I believe my enthusiasm, willingness to learn, and determination to succeed will allow me to adapt quickly to the expectations of an apprenticeship role. I am committed to building strong communication skills, both face-to-face and over the phone, and I understand the importance of patience, empathy, and professionalism when supporting customers.

I am a quick learner who is comfortable working both independently and as part of a team. My previous experiences, though not within a formal customer service role, have helped me develop key skills such as time management, responsibility, and resilience. I am confident these qualities will allow me to thrive in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.

This apprenticeship appeals to me because it offers the opportunity to gain practical experience while working towards qualifications that will strengthen my future career. I am motivated to put in the effort required to balance study with work, as I see this as an important investment in myself and my future.

In the long term, I hope to progress within the customer service industry, taking on greater responsibilities as I grow in confidence and ability. I am excited about the chance to start this journey and look forward to contributing positively to the success of the team I join.

Experience

I have gained hands-on experience across hospitality, retail, and customer service roles, developing strong communication, organisational, and teamwork skills. Most recently, I worked as a Bar and Waitressing team member at Jungle Mayhem, where I delivered excellent table service, managed payments efficiently, and maintained high hygiene and presentation standards in a fast-paced environment. Prior to this, I worked as a Hospitality Assistant at Premier Inn, providing outstanding guest service, ensuring rooms and public areas were well-presented, and supporting daily hotel operations as part of a collaborative team.

My earlier experience includes a Customer Service Assistant placement at Elite Motorcycle Training, where I welcomed students, managed bookings and payments, and developed interpersonal skills in a professional setting. I also volunteered in a charity shop, assisting customers, handling transactions, and organising stock displays. Additionally, I have supported local families through seasonal babysitting, demonstrating reliability, responsibility, and problem-solving in a childcare environment. At community fairs and events, I gained confidence interacting with the public, handling sales, and supporting organisers with set-up and customer enquiries.

Across these roles, I have consistently demonstrated reliability, adaptability, and professionalism. I thrive in customer-facing environments, balancing friendliness with efficiency, and take pride in delivering excellent service. My varied experiences have equipped me with a strong foundation for a customer service apprenticeship, where I am eager to continue developing my skills while contributing positively to a professional team.

Education

I completed my GCSEs at Ashby School, including core subjects such as English and Maths. While I have already achieved valuable qualifications, I am eager to continue strengthening my academic foundation. I am particularly motivated to retake and improve certain GCSEs if this forms part of the apprenticeship, as I see this as an important opportunity for both personal and professional growth. I view further study not just as a requirement, but as a chance to build confidence, expand knowledge, and enhance the skills that will support me in a long-term career within customer service.
