About Jess Quirk:

I am a hard working self motivated individual who is not afraid of a challenge. I love to work as a team and I always find my self helping whoever needs assisting to. I have numerous skills which include IT skills, computer skills, communication skills grade 2, self-motivated and an enthusiastic worker. Being self motivated I jump to any task and can always give 100 percent effort to the table. Working as a team in crucial as I’ve done this in my job many of times, I assisted baby immunisation clinic which allowed me to help my team an be able to provide the best clinical advice.

Experience

In my current job I possess extensive IT skills and offered to, and subsequently successfully trained a number of colleagues in Emis web, emails outlook, Microsoft teams, Microsoft spreadsheets, Microsoft word/PowerPoint and confidential waste emails. Additionally I identified my own training needs in the Emis system and developed my own skills in this area. I provide ongoing support for my colleagues on the various systems once they commence using the software.


 

I identified the need for an aide-memoir that would benefit my colleagues in the baby immunisation department in relation to the administrating of baby vaccinations. I created the aide-memoir and distributed this to my work colleagues and practise nurses. Additionally I identified the need for a guide to instruct colleagues new to the role on how to use Emis, this proved invaluable to my colleagues who had come from various professions and were introduced to Emis for the first time.

In order to provide effective healthcare it is essential that accuracy of information is maintained at all times and in accordance with the Data Protection Act 2018. Patient confidentially is paramount, this includes telephone and face to face interactions with patients along with all data and information held electronically.

Education

  • Having experience in musical theatre and gaining a BA Honors musical theatre degree I’m extremely comfortable with presenting to large groups. I enjoy working as part of a team and being able to support my work colleagues and share knowledge. I have a positive nature and I am self motivated - an example of this is my approach to my learning needs in relation to Emis, whereby I successfully developed my own training material and went on to distribute this to colleagues who would find this useful. In my role I utilise spreadsheets, diaries, reminders, electronic folders, emails and paper records in order that my workload and administrative tasks are effectively organised and prioritised and to ensure that I complete my workload in a timely manner and in accordance with deadlines. I have a can-do attitude and enjoy being involved in the development of colleagues, this includes sharing my knowledge and coaching and motivating in order that I enable them to achieve their goals and perform to their full potential. Within my role I am able to use my judgement in relation to particular circumstances whereby I can decide on next steps for possible solutions and in order to solve potential problems. When speaking with patients I am often presented with problems that require me to find solutions and achieve a positive outcome for the patient. I enjoy this element of my role as it enables me to provide our patients with the best customer care.
