About Jessica Condliffe:
This year has been my most exciting, scary and passionate to date. I have decided to totally re-evaluate my priorities, my interests and my life. My family and I have worked and lived in boarding schools for years and we have realised it is not healthy for us. My husband has returned to being a musician, we’ve moved to Winchester and I am excitedly ready to find my next long-term adventure! Throughout my career, I have had such an affinity with young people with SEMH or SEN, and my recent role at Releasing Potential, a school for severe SEMH and intense complex needs, has only confirmed passionately that this is what I believe I am made for!
My greatest passion is the world and its inhabitants; I love people! Human wellbeing and self-care is of the utmost importance. I believe it is my calling to help young people with complex lives and needs, to enable them to find self-belief and a sense of safety and care.
Experience
I have spent over 10 years in an array of pastoral positions, including Head of Boarding, Housemistress, Acting Head of Sixth Form and DDSL; pastoral is where my absolute heart is and has always been throughout my career. Whilst most of my career has been in the private sector, I have developed an incredible understanding of the issues young people face and the best way to support them.
As a Drama Specialist, I have taught English throughout my career, from KS2-KS4, and more recently EL2 and EL3. In addition to teaching English and Drama, I have consistently taught PSHE throughout the senior age-range and spent a number of years teaching History up to GCSE Level, and Geography to KS3.
My most recent role has been working in an SEMH school in Havant. I have absolutely loved working one-to-one, and in small class sizes, with some very complex SEN/ SEMH students, and believe this is the sphere of Education which I am made for.
Education
I have completed a PGCE, gaining QTS, a Masters Degree and Bachelors Degree.
Most of my education has been through my career, my pastoral positions that have taught me how to help young people and I have learnt every day of my rewarding and pupil-focused career.
