I am writing to express my interest to join the team. I am a creative person with a passionate attitude towards my work. I have 5 years of experience as a documentary filmmaker and producer, having worked in production agency and marketing agency.

I am willing to relocate anywhere within the UK. With my multitude of professional experiences that have expanded my practical skills, as well as my academic knowledge of film and media, I believe that I would be able to exceed expectations.

Most recently, I worked for 8 months as a video editor for digital consultancy firm ESM Inbound. A key responsibility of my role was to complete projects through every stage from pre-production to post-production using my practical skills. And worked closely with the marketing team to develop videos to promote our services and culture. Prior to and concurrently with my work at ESM Inbound, I developed my skills and passion as a documentary filmmaker as a freelance videography for the sports coach platform Somerton Sporting Club, producing several videos focusing on the real-life stories of different sporting personalities.

As an independent filmmaker, I have led projects from pitch development to launch, including day-to-day schedules, shooting, and editing. With my professional level of production skills, I have directed several journalistic documentaries about topics such as abortion rights in South Korea and wildlife conservation efforts in the United Kingdom, with several of my films having been screened at numerous film festivals internationally. In total, I have five years of relevant experience of producing and directing my own films, as well as joining numerous independent filmmaking projects.

After finishing my studies, I worked in a film production company in South Korea as an assistant director. I prepared the multi-camera set-up and organised shooting logistics for studio filming, assisted the visual effects team with managing and categorising raw video files, and editing using Adobe Creative Cloud applications and Final Cut Pro. I submitted all the metadata, the clean master without visual effects, and exported to different formats to meet the projects’ technical specifications. As a result, our team produced more than 100 IT lectures for South Korean educational public broadcaster EBS.

Studied Film and English at the University of Southampton, UK as part of an exchange studentship (Sep 2018-Jan 2019). All courses undertaken during this studentship were passed
