RESEARCH EXPERIENCE

Aston University, Birmingham (September 2021-September 2022) 

Department of Life Sciences, Drug Delivery Program

• Gained thorough understanding of analytical methods used for pharmaceutical analysis, including interpreting spectroscopic data (NMR, IR, MS) and predicting chemical properties. 
• Undertook laboratory practical work involving wet and dry granulation, and tablet compression.
• Conducted a study on the optimisation of filament production for 3D printing of pharmaceuticals, using the API theophylline. 
• Used Quality by Design approach to develop API + excipient loaded filaments which were analysed for drug content using validated HPLC methods, UV-Vis spectroscopy, dissolution studies and microscopy, while adhering to good laboratory practices. 
• Presented findings in a dissertation report, and as a poster presentation to the pharmaceutical sciences students and professors.

• Dispensed 50+ prescriptions per shift while monitoring stock levels to adapt prescriptions and orders to ensure about 90% prescription fulfilment weekly.
• Perfected use of the patient medical record software to speed up fulfilment of electronic and paper prescriptions by 15-20% daily.
