Juliet Booker

 As a recent graduate from the University of Edinburgh's Master's in Landscape Architecture (MLA), I am passionate about how sustainability, social justice and community building can intertwine in the fabrics of landscapes. Drawing on my interdisciplinary background, with a bachelor of arts in journalism and professional experience in decolonial work, my work often explores how landscapes tell their stories and, in turn, how these stories can empower designs that push for more connected, caring and climate-conscious futures. In 2025, I was awarded the Helen A. Rose Prize and the ESALA Master of Landscape Architecture Prize. Along with a strong background in communication, I am proficient in hand drawing, Adobe Suite, AutoCad, Microsoft Office, Adobe Experience Manager and GIS.

Earth Fellow Curriculum and Sustainability (November 2024 – August 2025)
Edinburgh Earth Initiative, University of Edinburgh
-  Gathered data as part of researching sustainability and material use in curriculum across the Edinburgh College of Arts
- Organized meetings, focus groups, workshops and a conference to support research and sharing of best practices around sustainability at the university
- Prepared reports and analysis to share results with community stakeholders

-  Managed a non-hierarchical leadership structure to plan and
create events based around sustainability and climate action
- Organized monthly meetings to hold conversations and advocate within the university for curriculum change

- Supported university-wide decolonizing and indigenizing
initiatives, including coordinating multiple events annually
- Handled communications, including restructuring and maintaining the website, and the creation of a quarterly newsletter
