About Kaleb Hemsley:

I am a recent graduate of Queen Mary University of London looking to begin my career in the creative/ writing sector. Having spent the last four years honing and working hard to excel my writing abilites in all areas including Creative, Copy and Research, i feel ready to start the journey of producing thoughtful, well researched pieces of content no matter the designated field or market.

Not only have i been able to comprehensively take on all the academic nuances to be attained from my English BA (such as appropriate research methods, a fully realised understanding for a multitude of genres and forms), i have placed a high importance on further developing my own creative writing in my personal time. I have developed a plethora of short stories, scripts, screenplays and more all of which i use to fill my time in a meaningful way, but most importantly to remain engaged with the art form.

CUSTOMER ASSISTANT, LIDL

  • Worked at Lidl’s inner city store Limehouse, working closely with many members of the public each day in a sensitive fashion
  • Developed strong collaborative skills working closely with my colleagues on set tasks from management, working in any manner as long as we all achieved our goals
  • Within the busy working environment high levels of patience were key, with each customer or work related query requiring unique solutions that benefitted every party

JULY 2022 – SEP 2022

COMMIS WAITER, ESTIATORIO MILOS

  • Worked in the Michelin recommended restaurant estiatorio Milos as a commis waiter for 3 months, working under leading professionals in the culinary field to provide the highest experience for high paying clientele in a high pressure environment
  • Shadowed the captains and supervisors whilst being charged with my own tasks to work alongside my team members to complete my duties to the highest quality in a proficient manner 
  • Was given responsibility for a table that was hosting notable figures in sports, film and politics, giving me firsthand experience in interacting with high profile clients in a mature and appropriate style with a cool, calm and friendly attitude.

 

 

JUNE 2022 – JULY 2022

TEMPORARY AGENCY WORKER, STINT

  • With notice ranging from 4 hours to 1 week, I had to think on my feet and adapt to a whichever environment I was in. I enjoyed the feeling of getting a somewhat secret access into the operations of these establishments, finding myself on the other side of places I would otherwise not find myself in
  • Most often I was in London’s premium restaurants, a few including: The Wolseley, The Savoy Grill, Aqua Shard. In these environments I quickly adapted to new team dynamics, fixing and filling holes within these pre-established teams to help their services continue smoothly.
