I am a highly experienced ( 18 years) Clinical Psychologist within various areas of adult mental health work, including specialising  in the  past in the addiction field and working with clients with chronic health conditions and psychological conditions such as anxiety, depression or trauma. 

I am  highly enthusiastic and Compassionate in my role and enjoy helping clients getting back into life and  on their recovery path. Through my various roles within the NHS I have applied various  psychological  therapy techniques that I am trained in such as CBT,  ACT, trauma focused Therapies,  Compassionate Mind Therapy or mindfulness based therapy. I am used to managing a large caseload and allocating incoming referrals to the appropriate treatment mode.  Over the last 2 years I have been largely working remotely this  imcreased my experience in delivering therapy on an online basis . 

I am also enthusiastic in developing other Clinicians through  provision of teaching, supervision and reflective learning in case discussions. 

I  have over the last 5 to 6 years build up a successful part- time private practice in Psychology  (Psychological Therapies Dumfries   some of which come through corporate referers others from my own website. I am thus very keen to build up a bigger private clinic if possible through linking up more with other private insurerers or cooperate agencies  in order to help others reach  their full potential  and recovery. 

1. Clinical Psychologist level 8b  - Adult Mental Health Dumfries NHS :  July 2016 until current  (part-time)  main't responsibilities: provision of specialised psychological assessments and treatments for AMH clients , allocating and Co-ordinating incoming  referrals, line management of psychologists, service development/ audit 
2. Nov 2015  until Current Private Clinical Psychologist (part time) : Setting up own private work business  Coordinating incoming referrals, managing own caseload, working woth a variety of private referrals from the public and corporate sector, managing billing, keeping   own CPD up to date.
3. August 2010-July 2016: Clinical Psychologist 8b Diabetes Team NHS Dumfries: setting up a new specialised Diabetes Psychology service; training, supervision and consultancy to multidisciplinary team members of Diabetes team; Service audits , evaluation feeding back to boardmeetings; provision of specialised psychogicam treatments to client group both individual and group treatments. 
4. Sept. 2006 to July 2010 Clinical Psychologist 8a: Addictions Team NHS Dumfries and Galloway  Setting up a new Psychology Service specialty and consultancy service  within the addiction Team. Provision of highly specialised  Psychology assessments and treatments; psychological skills development of members of the multidisciplinary  team via  supervision , consultancy and training workshops; ongoing service development and  audit -  feeding results back into NHS health board. 
5. Sept. 2005 - Sept. 2006 Clinical Psychologist Grade 7 Stobhill Hospital Glasgow: Junior Psychologist role mainly focused on treating and assessing clients with various adult mental health issues. Set up a new social phobia group treatments whilst working in that role.
