Experience

Employment History and Relevant Work Experience

August 2022 – Present Day                 Marketing Manager
Ambassador Theatre Group, New Theatre Oxford

Key Responsibilities

  • Campaign management of multiple shows, ranging from weeklong musicals and plays to one-night music, comedy, and entertainment products. This involves managing budget and implementing marketing activity to achieve and surpass agreed sales and audience targets. Most recently, sole lead for a high-profile musical campaign and exceeded the Net Box Office target by 20%, this in turn made Oxford the 2nd most successful venue on the tour.
  • Create powerful, dynamic multichannel marketing campaigns with varied lead times, each specifically tailored to the individual show. These campaigns consist of digital marketing (email, social media, web-based advertising), radio, tv, outdoor display, print distribution and press advertising.
  • Present venue findings to ATG’s Producer Partnerships team and Regional Revenue Management. This involves delivering sales analysis reports and robust campaign evaluations to demonstrate the effectiveness of marketing activity and translate these learnings for future campaigns.
  • Act as the primary marketing contact in the venue for producers, promoters, and PR and ensure these meaningful relationships are nurtured and prioritised. Also, maintaining long-term relationships with suppliers, press and local businesses, whilst securing effective return on investment.
  • Hold a pivotal role in the creation and execution of the communication plans, planning the press nights and PR activity, and ensuring it corresponds with the marketing plan.
  • Events management of show press nights. This involves budgeting and purchasing props and entertainment for the event. Such as transforming the venue into a Greek wedding for Mamma Mia.
  • Manage the curation of the venue’s partnerships with businesses by seeking and building strong connections to ensure the needs of all parties are met efficiently.
  • Supporting and deputising the Head of Marketing and Communications on campaigns, meetings and tasks.
  • Manage the venue’s social media platforms (Instagram, Tik Tok, Facebook and Twitter) monitoring and executing trends to stay current and build the venue’s following and brand.
  • Collaborate with ATG’s Data and CRM teams to identify and test opportunities to grow audience and sales, including to underrepresented audience groups.
  • Collaborate on and deliver marketing campaigns to drive ATG’s loyalty scheme, sponsorship commitments, venue F&B marketing and other ATG concepts and initiatives.
  • Experience in interviewing, selecting and recruiting into the Marketing team. Providing mentoring support and delegation of responsibilities for the Marketing and Communications Assistant.

October 2021 – December 2021       Interim Communications Manager

Ambassador Theatre Group, New Theatre Oxford

Key Responsibilities

  • Work in close collaboration with the Head of Marketing and Communications and Theatre Director to create and deliver powerful communications plans that closely correspond with the marketing campaign.
  • Acted as the first point of contact for all day-to-day venue or show-related external communications, press enquiries or PR-related matters.
  • Lead the press management in the lead time of the show’s arrival in Oxford, sending out the press releases and artwork, and organising photo calls and press stunts. For example, managing the photo opportunity for the cast of School Of Rock in Christ Church’s dining hall. On another occasion, taking the cast of Jersey Boys through Oxford atop a City Sight Seeing Bus. Both events were subsequently published on multiple media platforms, including the Oxford Mail.
  • Organise the invite list for press critics and assist the Marketing Manager with the event management of the show’s press night. In particular, leading the press event for the 2021 Gala Night for our Christmas Show, the theatre’s biggest night of the year.
  • Interviewed prominent cast members, these were then written and sent out to a variety of media outlets.
  • Prepared media statements for the venue on behalf of the Head of Marketing and Communications and Theatre Director. This was especially relevant during Plan B of Covid 19, coordinating interviews and statements for many news outlets, including the BBC.

September 2021 – August 2022        Marketing and Communications Assistant

Ambassador Theatre Group, New Theatre Oxford

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting on all aspects of venue marketing campaigns, including liaison with producers, agencies, media or other partners on marketing activity and initiatives. As well as assuming sole responsibility for creating marketing plans for music, comedy and entertainment one-night products.
  • Support the Communications campaigns tailored and designed for the individual show. Assisting with press launches, press nights, photo calls, and interview opportunities to achieve campaign objectives.
  • Supervised the venue’s digital and social media channels as directed by the Marketing Manager. Creating and writing all visual collateral and leading initiatives to revamp and reimagine social media content. This led to increasing our social media following by 70%. This required timely implementation of assets across different media, liaising with agencies and maintaining accuracy in all marketing output.
  • Managing the venue’s email marketing by writing content and selecting audience-targeting data.
  • Supporting the venue’s Marketing & Communications team in sourcing and creating assets, such as designing social media templates, leaflets, press invitations, promotional deal cards, and signage on Canva.
  • Supporting the venue’s Marketing & Communications team to compile information for brochures, producing seasonal copy and consistently proofreading multiple drafts.
  • Supporting and deputising for the Marketing Manager and Communications Manager projects.
  • Liaising with producers and agencies to ensure that materials (print, posters, pop-ups, and other venue displays) are ordered, processed, and distributed with the correct information held and quantities.

January – August 2021                          Marketing and Communications Intern

                                                                        DorsaVi (Biotechnology Sales Company), Global

Key Responsibilities

  • Created and maintained DorsaVi’s blog. This included writing detailed, engaging, easily digestible content to advertise sophisticated medical technology to an international audience. The customers and viewers range from teenage athletes to the elite (such as British Gymnastics), coaches, physiotherapists and doctors. The blog platform required weekly posts. Within a month of the launch, it had over 1000 visitors.
  • Designed, formatted and wrote the content for marketing brochures and case studies; to advertise the technology and present the information in an exciting, digestible style for the general public. These brochures are now included in the sales package for new customers.
  • Introduced a detailed blog calendar to keep the sales team informed on dates, content and image or video uploads: this ensured the blog effectively corresponded with social media posts.
