Experience
Currently working as a health care support worker for 10 years. Assisting patients with daily living activities including but not limited to washing and dressing, eating and drinking, using the bathroom
Ensuring patient and staff safety is paramount when carrying out manual handling procedures - carrying out risk assessments
Building relationships and effectively communicating between patients and their relatives - or anyone holding POA - as well as other healthcare professionals to ensure patient care is centred
Working in line with NHS policies and procedures as well as NMC code of conduct and infection control standards
Keep staff/ward training in date (in-ward training, electronic training i.e TURAS)
Making sure paper work such as fluid charts, SKIN bundles, total intake charts etc are filled in correctly, legible and up-to-date (can include inputting information electronically using the IT systems i.e Trakcare)
Promoting independence in patients
Ensuring stock is replenished and rotated
Cleaning of equipment using schedules, this includes deep cleaning
Education
Successfully completed a NC in health and social care alongside a HNC in Care and Administrative practice at moray college. Also had a SVQ2 in business and administration
