Experience
In my two most recent roles within my current employer, my responsibilities have included, as Managing Director:
- Overall responsibility for the day-to-day running of the business
- Strategy and direction planning with open communication with the shareholders and wider company
- New business acquisition and execution of the accompanying sales strategy
- Running P&L, forecasting, billing, cashflow, payroll, suppliers and budgeting and analysing data from these for review and next steps business planning
- Reviewing billing models and working practices to drive efficiencies and increase profitability
- Resource planning, senior team management, escalation point for HR issues
- Client liaison - consultancy, strategy, upsell, networking and retention
- Creation and maintenance of a strong and rewarding company culture where people feel valued, listened to and enjoy being a part of.
And previously as Client Services Director:
- Co-running a 10-strong account delivery team working across circa 22 clients ranging in monthly retained fees from £1.5k - £25k to ensure the effective delivery of all client marketing campaigns
- Responsibility for handling £75k of client retainer income revenue per month against the organisation’s £100k monthly billing target, as well as project activity additional to this
- Involvement and decision-making in account and people allocation company-wide
- Up-selling outside of client contracts to drive upside revenue into the business through project-focussed work such as research, events and exhibitions, re-brands, websites, merchandise, photography, advertising, additional content and design assets
- Responsibility for month end billing and forecasting
- Account Direction in terms of client marketing campaign management and strategy, encompassing day-to-day account activity and client liaison, quality control of all written materials, pitching of materials, coverage generation, frequently driving contribution to publication/website features, driving targeted responses to articles and blogs, monitoring press coverage levels, client events, reporting, leading PR update meetings and developing social media strategies for clients
- Escalation point of contact for clients requiring crisis PR or marketing consultancy
- Team management in terms of individual development, progression and training
- Advising clients on the wider marketing strategy offering advice on marketing spend and ROI
- Liaison with and management of external suppliers
