This has included sub-editing news and features on national security, transport and technology for various online and print publications, and publishing annual titles in hard copy.

Experience

My most recent role was as a Content Editor at Janes, from November 2012 to April 2021. My responsibilities were: 

  • Editing news and reference material, both online and hard copy, on titles including Janes Defence Weekly, World Railways and Land Warfare Platforms.
  • Chasing additional copy from authors and any missing images or photos.
  • Querying issues relating to articles and features, such as table information, text inconsistencies and quotations.
  •  Juggling various projects and working to tight deadlines.

Education

I studied English and Media and Cultural Studies at Nottingham Trent University between 1995 and 1998, then followed up with an MA in Writing from 1998 to 2000.
