KUMBIRAI NHONGO

Kumbirai Nhongo is a mission-driven humanitarian and development practitioner with extensive experience managing complex, multi-country development programmes across Africa and Asia. He brings deep expertise in project execution, team coordination, donor engagement, and process improvement, particularly in fragile and dynamic contexts. At Welthungerhilfe, he has led EU- and German-funded programmes in Bangladesh and Zimbabwe, overseeing strategic planning, budget oversight, cross-functional collaboration, and high-level stakeholder engagement. He has also worked regionally with the Southern African Research and Documentation Centre, contributing to policy research, multilateral advocacy, and intergovernmental coordination across 16 southern African states. Kumbirai is adept at managing diverse teams, streamlining operations, and driving mission-aligned initiatives. His background spans public and private sectors, and he brings strong policy planning, business development, and relationship-building skills. He holds a Master’s in Governance, Bachelor’s degrees in law and business administration, and is currently pursuing a Master of Laws. He has the right to work in the UK.
