I will soon be graduating with a Bachelor Of Science in Crime and Investigation with a second-class honours division 2 (2:2) degree from Teesside University with a strong foundation in law, policing and forensic science. Through academic studies, I have developed many skills such as research, teamwork and communication as well as many other skills. I also have experience in conducting independent research, carrying out academic research and working collaboratively in groupwork and investigations. I am eager to start my professional career in a Crime and Investigation field so that I can use my knowledge and continue learning to be able to contribute positively and professionally in the workplace. 

With this company I have been working as a teaching assistant in many primary schools in Teesside working with nursery, year 1 and year 2 students. I also participated in being an exam invigilator for one of the GCSE’s that was happening in a secondary school, so I helped monitor the exam hall to make sure everyone was being sensible while sitting their exams and assisting them if they needed anything. For example, whoever needed the toilet, I'd follow them so that there would be no cheating going on and that the students would only go to the toilet and nowhere else during their exam period.

When working as a normal teacher assistant in nurseries, I would help support the other children that are present and make sure they are safeguarded so they won’t end up hurting themselves or causing injury to other children. I also helped with snack time passing around milk and fruit to get their energy up so they wouldn’t get tired, and their brain would function properly so they would get the right minerals and vitamins they would need. I would also go outside on the playground to monitor them to make sure they don’t hurt themselves or others when playing and I would keep them entertained while playing for their own satisfaction and expand on their socialising skills and creativity. 

While working as a 1:1 teacher assistant, I had to work with SEN children to support them in the classroom and to make sure their educational needs are met. I would keep a close eye on the SEN children to make sure they don’t hurt themselves and while the main teachers are teaching the class I would put my full focus on them to help with safeguarding and encouraging them to do work independently and keep them calm.

I will be graduating with a 2:2 degree in Bachelors of Science in Crime and Investigation.
