Laura Allsopp

Hello! I'm Laura Rozamunda, a postgraduate currently based in London. I am dedicated to producing polished written and illustrated content- with a particular passion for making culture accessible to wide audiences, as I believe culture shapes and strengthens the relations of nations.

Within the Literature side of my BA Art and English Literature, I specialised in the Victorian period, pursuing a fascination of the intersection between French, English and Imperial Russian late 18th to 20th century literature. And within Visual Arts, my practice focuses on creating realist/impressionist oil portraits, scripting and filming video essays, and clay sculpture.

As I approach graduation from my MA History of Art at the Courtauld Institute of Art, University of London, I am eager to take on the exciting challenge of work within the Broadcast & Digital Media; Museums & Galleries; and Publishing sectors, following my studies these sectors are where I aim to contribute my passion and skills.

I'm always enthusiastic to keep up my Italian and French conversational skills, feel free to strike up a conversation about the last book you read, radio show you love, political debate you can't avoid at dinner, or anything in between. Merci de votre visite, e buona giornata!

I've worked as a curatorial assistant, developing an online exhibition and aiding with administrative tasks for the exhibition Rubens to Sickert: The Study of Drawing, a partnership between the University of Reading's Art Collection, and Reading Museum- so am familiar with Microsoft Office, and Adobe Creative Suite, and online communication platforms. I've always worked in public facing roles and as part of teams, for example in retail, waitressing and events, and am currently working in a national gallery in London, which requires clear, concise communication, interpersonal relation building, and a passion for one's work. While nearing the completion of my MA, I am also the Literary Editor at my university's student run online and print magazine 'The Courtauldian.'

Throughout my Literature and Art undergraduate, I developed my research, writing and editing skills, and also familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, alongside oil painting and sculpting, which translated well into the professional experience as it hones a high level of attention to detail, patience and precision, and the ability to work well to a deadline. My current MA in History of Art, specialising in Soviet and Post-Soviet art, provides a solid foundation of modern history, current politics, and contemporary art markets. Studying at the Courtauld in London maintains a proximity to, and therefore an awareness of, trends in artistic and publishing sectors; building networks and keeping a finger on the pulse, as it were, of a major cultural hub.
