About Leah Byrne:
I am a polite, well-mannered individual who is enthusiastic, motivated and driven to achieve. I have recently finished college as a Travel and Tourism student, who is now looking into a career within the industry focusing the hospitality and events & conference side. During my time in education I have learnt, I am inspired to try new opportunities and try new things, as I have a positive attitude and have enhanced enthusiasm, through activities, including competitive swimming, dance, and gymnastics, in which I have previously participated. This has allowed me to always strive for the best. Helping other people is also important to me and making sure they are confident and achieve what they want to do as well as allowing me to feel confident that I have achieved my own goals.
Experience
I am working part-time (Voluntary) at a country pub and restaurant, where I have been able to gain invaluable experience of working in the licencing trade including bar work, food orders, customer service and general maintenance; allowing me to further improve my skills face to face with customers and guests.
I have done work experience at the Brierley Hill Civic Hall taking part in the set-up, assisting guests and breakdown at event held by a local council and charity for the annual AGM awards ceremony. This gave me an insight into the sector and what it is to collaborate with clients direct and gain a successful outcome.
Education
I have completed an NCFE Level 3 Extended Diploma in Travel and Tourism, where I have learnt about many components of the industry. Topics I have Covered from this course include Hospitality, and the Events and Conference, which has led me to want to pursue a career within this sector.
Throughout the 2 years I have been at college, I have also gained Level 2 qualifications in Cabin Crew and Aviation Operations on the Ground. This has also widen my Knowledge of the sector and encouraged my enthusiasm
