About Liza Smith:

 I am a teaching assistant with 7 years experience and a masters in autism, working with students aged 11-18 with special educational needs, in particular autism. 

Experience

Supporting students with various needs in lessons to access the work.

Social, emotional and behavioural support and mentoring of autistic girls in year 7 and 8.

Weekly contact with parents/carers to update them on key student’s progress.

Writing and reviewing ISPs on a termly basis for key students.

Organising subject reports for Education, Health and Care Plan reviews.

Run homework club for SEN students, support students where necessary. 

Liaise with teachers before, during and after lessons on lesson content, updates, progress and any concerns.

Work as a team with fellow teaching assistants; supporting new and existing members of staff, communicating effectively.

Masters in Autism with Distinction

First Class BA Hons degree in Child, Youth and Family Studies.
