Lois Smith

I am an enthusiastic leader with knowledge, experience and passion for teaching practices. I thrive on challenges, priding myself on my adaptability and application to work in a pressurised environment.  I am people-orientated and have exceptional leadership skills, with the ability to positively engage colleagues, students, and clients.

Experienced academic leader in the School of Sport, Exercise, and Rehabilitation Sciences, providing strategic guidance on teaching and learning initiatives. Responsible for managing temporary staff contracts and spearheading curriculum enhancement projects, focusing on education and student experience.

I chair several key university boards, contributing to Fitness to Practice, Academic Misconduct, and Program Development; a well as being an Active member of the School Leadership Team, driving meaningful change. 

I am skilled in delivering innovative, BASRaT-aligned teaching, fostering external partnerships, and offering exceptional pastoral and supervisory support to students as well as having vast experience in supervising undergraduate and master's level dissertation projects.
