Luke Dixon

I am in my final year of Accounting and Finance at the University of Leeds.

I have work experience from 15 months at Redmayne Bentley Stockbrokers as a student placement. I had the opportunity to work through a project which has led to development throughout all areas of the business. As part of the project, I managed the custody allocation for £7bn worth of assets and made decisions on how to reduce operational costs throughout the business. I provided creative solutions to roadblocks the business had with prerequisites to the project. This required effective communication with members in all departments in order to provide solutions that would benefit everyone and not affect daily activities. 

July 2021 – September 2022, Student Placement, Redmayne Bentley Stockbrokers, Leeds

• Managed a project to complete a mass custodian reallocation project of £7bn of assets as a prerequisite for project migration.
• Developing new processes and training for international market movements and cross borders.
• Training, developing, and innovating current processes within operations to increase work capacity for business growth.
• Integrating and monitoring weekly reconciliations for £7bn of asset’s market, custody, and security profiles.
• Experienced in Bank of New York and CREST GUI systems.
• Reporting progress to managers and directors for various teams’ projects and presenting this data with various excel tools such as Pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, burn down charts, and excel formats.
• Investigating time sensitive prerequisite issues to present and implement solutions before project launch.

2019 – 2023, University of Leeds, BSc Accounting and Finance with Placement, First Class Honours (predicted to date).

• Producing a dissertation report analysing the strategy, financial statements and stock performance of JD Sports to advise investment decisions.
• Developed skills with Bloomberg and achieved Bloomberg Market Concepts Certificate level 1.
