Personal Statement

In July 2018 I graduated from the University Of South Wales studying BA (Hons) Fashion Marketing and Retail Design and obtaining a 2:1 Hons Degree.

I am a self-motivated individual who always strives to achieve my best in any task given. I am highly organised and enjoy working as part of a team.

My most recent employment history includes working for Stitch Fix as a personal shopper and online stylist. This role has further expanded upon my styling skills of interpreting fashion trends from both the catwalk and high street and delivering a high level of customer satisfaction through my online styling sessions.

Professional Experience

Buying Admin Assistant internship at Missguided – July 2018
During my last year at university I completed a buying internship at Missguided head office in Manchester. This role really enhanced my knowledge and skills needed to pursue a career within buying.
Responsibilities and achievements

-  Maintaining the critical path and communicating with suppliers/merchandising team.

-  Labelling and processing samples.

-  Attending the Monday trade meeting and creating reports to share with the wide

team for review.

-  Attending fit sessions with the design team and merchandisers to evaluate

product samples and fit of designs.

Topshop Visual Merchandising - November 2018 to September 2019
I have recently started my career with Topshop as a visual merchandiser within their Westfield Stratford store. This opportunity has further enhanced my own passion and interest for the Arcadia brand and the in store customer experience. Responsibilities and achievements

-  Being fully flexible with my work patterns and doing over night work shifts alongside a daily start time of 6.30am.

-  Working to strict time schedules and prioritising tasks in order to ensure every task is complete to a high standard.

-  Using my own knowledge and creativity of the latest fashion trends and implementing this within the Topshop store through the use of product placements, colour schemes and styling of outfit builds.

-  Being commercially aware and customer focused working within the Topshop brand guidelines.

Marks and Spencer Visual Merchandising Assistant – September 2019 to March 2022
During my time at Marks and Spencer I have developed my own commercial styling knowledge and learnt about brand image and how the buying team play a crucial role within the store visual merchandising plans.

Responsibilities and achievements

-  Working as part of a team to achieve store targets whilst maintaining a high level of stock presentation on the shop floor.

-  Translating the latest high fashion trends and appealing these to the M&S target customer.

-  Working to the business needs and being fully flexible with my working hours; doing nightshifts when needed and having a daily start time of 7AM.

Stitch Fix Online Stylist – August 2021 to Present
This job role has really helped me develop my styling skills and tailoring outVit ideas to each individual client. This employment embedded my learning about consumer buying behaviour on an online platform as opposed to a retail environment.
Responsibilities and achievements

-  Working as part of a remote team to achieve company targets and average order values.

-  Using my skills learnt from visual merchandising within a store environment and using these within my online styling skills; interpreting current trends and choosing outVits to reflect this.

-  Ensuring I maintain my time management with a target time to style each client.

-  Keeping up with the latest fashion trends and using this to suggest high street

trends to clients considering colour, texture and brand of items.

Qualifications

6 GCSE’s including English and Maths - Grades A* - C
A Levels (AS & A2) in Sociology, Media, Art & Design – BCC
BA (Hons) Fashion Marketing and Retail Design – 2:1
I am proVicient at using software such as Photoshop, InDesign, Excel and Sketch Up.

Experience

I have been employed as a remote personal stylist for Stitch Fix since February 2021. Throughout my time at Stitch Fix I have expanded upon my own styling and personal shopping skills and using this in a remote setting to deliver a high level of customer service and satisfaction. My daily tasks include choosing items of clothing considering a clients budget, lifestyle and client demands. I am so passionate about delivering a high level of customer service and love all things fashion!
