About Magdalena Lewicka:

I have graduated from University of Adam Mickiewicz in Poznan (Poland) with BA (Hons) and Master of Arts in Spanish Language and Literature (Hispanic Studies).

 

I completed two postgraduate studies on Public Relations and Psychology in Marketing and Management. 

Apart from Polish, I am fluent in Spanish, which is on native level, in English (Advanced English Certificate, plus eight years living and working in the UK) and German (Test DaF-Level C2, plus five years living and working in Germany). 

I have worked in various positions where my language, sales and negotiation skills were regularly used: in export/business/project management, supporting international trade as Spanish teacher/ Spanish Tutor, Personal Assistant, Interpreter, Translator, Proof Reader, Content Writer (Spanish, English, German, Polish), Export Administrator, Export Sales Manager and Sales Support Coordinator.

I have also assisted middle and senior management in the number of major international players. During this time, I have been involved in the general organisation of board meetings, translations of web sites, presentations, documents, policies, conferences and day-to-day activities. I have also liaised on a regular basis with individual clients and companies, and I have participated in crucial decision-making meetings with my superiors. 

Through my knowledge of English, Spanish and German I was regularly asked to translate important business documents and interpret during significant meetings. 

As a partner in the Personnel Consulting company in Warsaw (PSP) I was searching for new customers for recruitment projects and recruiting for CEOs and senior positions within Poland for German companies. 

Working as Export Manager in Decora (Polish leader in production of decoration and insulations for construction industry) and in Sales Department in Hochbach in Germany (the producer and distributor of packaging), I was responsible for gaining new clients in Spain, Portugal, Italy and South America. I also created the price policy and negotiated all commercial contracts. I processed orders, monitored stock levels, prepared export and import documents, customs declarations and certificates of origin. I created quotations, sent samples and was also responsible for developing and maintaining good relationships with customers, representatives and partners. I cooperated with suppliers and shipping companies throughout Europe. I reviewed and negotiated prices and terms of contracts. 

In 2012 we moved with the whole family to Turkey, Istanbul and I started to work as a Teaching Assistant with EAL (English as an Additional Language) focus and Substitute Spanish Teacher in Istanbul International Community School. 

After three years we moved to the UK, Bedford, and I started to work as the EAL Teaching Assistant in Sharnbrook School, followed by EAL Coordinator at Mark Rutherford School in Bedford. 

Recently, I have been working as Sales Support Coordinator at Acentic Ltd and I provided daily support to all Sales Managers and Directors and worked closely with our partners in Germany. 

 

At the moment I work in Bedford Modern School (Independent sector) as a Learning Support Assistant and I provide the language support (Spanish and German) to Junior and Senior students.

Working and living in many countries since 2006 enabled me to develop my knowledge and gain many useful skills. I worked in various cultures and in various positions always demonstrating excellent communication and organisational skills, integrity, flexibility and good collaboration with the others.
