I live in Oxford - holding a valid Enhanced DBS certificate, Safeguarding and Prevent - and have been teaching/tutoring Economics, Business Studies and Mathematics at the IGCSE, A-LEVEL, IB diploma, BTEC Extended Diploma and Foundation level to a diverse group of students from various nationalities - Japanese, Chinese, South Korean, Iranian, Turkish, Arab, Polish, Russian and Romanian - for a long time. I have a solid understanding of the different cultures and parents’ expectations of their children’s education. This enables me to tailor my teaching approach appropriately to achieve the desired outcomes.

I enjoy teaching and am very much performance focused; motivating students to raise their expectations and build interest in them to achieve top grades and appreciate the importance of high quality education, qualifications and jobs. It is essential to prepare our young generation to be able to compete effectively with students from other growing economies.

I pride myself in quality teaching making sure that my students, either in groups or individually, not only understand the subject material well but also perform well and beyond expectations in their exams to achieve top marks. Their feedbacks indicate that they find my teaching style enjoying and inspiring, which develops an interest in them to take up related studies later at the university. This stems from my personality to be able to interact and communicate subject content with students effectively, thereby winning their trust and enthusiasm to look forward to my classes; the resulting brilliant performance on their part in final exams also gives me enormous pleasure and personal satisfaction. I am very experienced knowing ‘how’ to teach that develops interest in students resulting in their success.

When I joined the IB International School in Tehran, students – comprising foreign diplomats’ children and returning Iranian dual nationals – taking the IB Higher Level in Economics had no economics teacher in their first year of studies. This meant that I had to cover the 2-year syllabus in only 9 months which I managed successfully with students achieving high marks.

At Tehran International Institute I taught BTEC Business Studies course to mature students who were preparing to continue their education abroad. They were quite excited that they were learning business concepts that they were experiencing in their workplace in an academic way and improving their English Language proficiency at the same time.

At the College of International Education I designed and taught summer academic courses comprising Maths, Science and Social Sciences (Economics and Business Studies) receiving their positive feedback from students who completed them.

At UTC Oxfordshire, I introduced more rigour into their BTEC Business Studies to raise their expectations to improve their performance, especially in units that are externally examined. I was told by the Head Teacher that “students love you “ only after just a few days into the job.

At St. Michael's Catholic School in High Wycombe, I taught A-Level students Business Studies and enjoyed students' enthusiasm and spirit of teamwork whom I managed to raise their aspirations to achieve higher marks and thus opening doors to top university studies. 

At d'Overbroeck (private school) in Oxford, I taught both domestic and internationa student in small groups of less than ten, GCSE and A-Level in Business Studies to raise their ability in critical thinking enabling them to achieve top grades when they need to tackle ‘analysis ‘ questions in their exams.

At the Grange School in Aylesbury, I taught GCSE, A-Level and Btec Business Department to years 10, 11, 12 and 13.

I was immensely gratified when I was given a card by the students, at both, St. Michael's Catholic School and d'Overbroecks showing their appreciation for the way I taught them (available to see).
