About Martin Richards:

I am a psychology with neuroscience degree holder with a decade of experience in physical health, mental health and education. This has given me a holistic understanding of psychology.

I'm passionate about improving wellbeing in homes and institutions. I'm also very interested in deeper issues surrounding the mental health crisis in the UK and its relation to topics such as individualism, competition, desire and religion.

A notable skill I have developed and refined throughout my journey is the skill of active listening. I have refined this particularly through my voluntary work as a Samaritan as well as through experience as a medical student and support worker. A skill which I have developed working in a forensic mental health facility and a school specialising in SEMH and forensic mental health hospital is the skill of de-escalation.
