Meng Structural Engineering with Architectural Design • Sept 2020 – May 2023 • Heriot-Watt University (Edinburgh, UK). Candidate for a Distinction. This course is preparing me to take a step further in the construction industry, by gaining deep knowledge in important current issues.
- Fifth year (Current). Courses included: Structural Dynamics and Earthquake Engineering, Advanced Design of Steel and Steel-Concrete Composite Structures, Finite Element Method Nonlinear Analysis, Statistical Modelling of the Environment. Design project: Upgrade and expand a route for active transportation with the installation of pedestrian bridges and sustainable urban planning.
- BEng: Fourth and third year (2020-2022). Grade achieved: 1:1. Courses included: Geotechnics B- Soils Strength, Finite Element Method Linear Analysis, Plastic Analysis of Structures, Foundation Engineering, Critical Building Analysis, Design of Steel Elements, Design of Concrete Elements, Hydraulics & Hydrology B.
Dissertation project: ‘Composite Beams with Novel Demountable Shear Connectors’, I studied a novel proposition for demountable shear connectors, through a variety of lab tests and by carrying out an extensive literature review and research process (Grade: A).

- Graded unit project (HND): The development of a tram bridge with a pedestrian and a cyclist way, analysing and designing its foundation, supports and deck slab, as well as including a contract strategy.
- Graded unit project (HNC): Case Study for a preliminary design of a multi-story car park building, by designing and analysing its foundation, supports and slab. Moreover, carrying out surveying, determined calculations and drawings of the final project.
