About Melissa Buttimer:

Searching for a career move to fulfill my next chapter.

I have a keen interest in health and fitness, through which I have completed a BSc (Hons) in Exercise and Health Science, followed by a PG Dip in Echocardiography. I obtained a Research Internship from the Physical Education and Sports Science Department at the University of Limerick, through which I conducted a study investigating The Effects of Making Minimum Weight for Racing on Cognitive Performance in Professional Flat Jockeys in Ireland. 

I have obtained certificates such as a REPS Ireland-recognized Fitness Instructor, Personal Trainer, and Exercise for Health Specialist. Along with a Distinction award in Exercise, Fitness, and Nutrition. Through a variety of experiences, I have developed some very valuable skills including work ethic, initiative, time and workload management, commitment, and decision-making. 
With credit to previous employments in retail, bars, and restaurants, I have also gained some essential people skills that are transferable into any industry, such as professionalism and strong communication skills, empathy, listening skills, and working well under pressure. In addition to this, I have also gained leadership skills, as I have had to work alone on many occasions, as well as leading others in a team environment.  However, I am always looking to improve my existing skills and develop new ones.
