About Merushka Hansraj:
My education career spans 24 years; 22 within the realm of Special Education covering the full range of needs and age groups, and 13 in Senior Leadership positions in the UK and abroad. My role is multi-faceted, and it includes a balance between strategic, operational, functional and financial responsibilities.
I currently have responsibility for 3 sites across North London and I work extensively with 12 Local Authorities, Governors, Board Members, External Advisors, Therapists, parents and other stakeholders. I manage large teams, collaborate with extensive networks, and have a lengthy track record for successful change management. I have extensive knowledge and experience in assessing students, writing IEP's/Education Health Care Plans/Personalised Learning plans and I have been instrumental in the innovation of IEP reporting processes for greater accessibility by students and their families, many for whom English is an additional language.
It has been both exciting and challenging to successfully manage change, mould mindsets and inspire people, develop and establish strong foundations for further growth in school culture as well as holist, inclusive educational and strategic practices through a high level of collaboration and relationship building. I am passionate about Inclusive Education, and embracing innovation to provide an enjoyable, accessible and progressive educational experience of the highest standards to our children and young people with additional needs. I embrace opportunities to share my passion and expertise as far and wide as possible for the benefit of every child, anywhere in the world.
