I have 5+ years’ experience in Environment sustainability, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 in organizations. My work experience lies in apparel and electronic item manufacturing in UK and Sri Lanka. Being a professional as well as a scholar in the environment sustainability field, I’m passionate about climate change and drive to net zero. I’m Accustomed to work under pressure and use my own initiatives to achieve goals. I'm a quick learner with a clear and a logical mind and a practical approach to quick problem solving. I have a drive to see things through to completion. Most importantly I’m truly passionate about driving corporate businesses with sound environmental health and safety standards.

I’m a resilient person and a quick learner. In my current role as the Environment and Quality Coordinator at Epson Telford Ltd, I have successfully ensured compliance with ISO standards (9001, 14001, and 45001) by conducting routine site audits to guarantee alignment with the said standards and UK environmental regulations. I also do Duty of Care Waste audits, Act as a contact person for SECR reporting, and ESOS regulations. I worked with engineering teams on compressed air leak, internal temperature control projects to reduce energy consumption. Also working on revamping the energy metering system of the factory. I have initiated process waste reduction, waste segregation projects and looked for new reuse and recycling initiatives for paper cups and moulding plastic waste.

One of my responsibilities here is to ensure pollution prevention and Environmental protection. Upon my arrival, I undertook the responsibility of a position that had been vacant for 15 months, initiating the groundwork and placing a strong emphasis on the factory's environmental compliance. Throughout my tenure, I've completed 22/23 internal Environment audit calendar covering all departments and processes of Epson. 

I hold an MSc in Sustainability and Renewables with Distinction from the University of Dundee, a BSc in Environmental Conservation and Management, the NEBOSH International General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety and am an ISO 14001 Lead Auditor. I’m well versed in key sustainability concepts such as net zero, carbon sinks, carbon footprints, and environmental risk assessments, I am committed to continuous learning and stay updated on the latest advancements in the field through regular reading and professional development.
