I am a hardworking, enthusiastic and determined induvial, looking to pursue a career where I can contribute to the organization’s goals, as well as take opportunities to learn and progress in my own knowledge in engineering and technology. Customer service is one of my greatest strengths, as working at the reception of a hotel, customer service is everything. From ensuring all guests have a pleasant first and last impression of the hotel, to solving more complex queries and complaints, working at front of houses requires excellent communication, problem solving and customer service skills. All of which, I have refined and improved to an excellent degree over 6 years. The industry I worked in also required quick thinking and solutions to problems that were highly time sensitive. Working under pressure and thinking of creative and efficient solutions to a varied range of problems that appear in the hospitality / restaurant industry became the norm for me; a role I took on extremely well. Being highly organized also helped with this regard, as managing reservations for 94 bedrooms, 2 conference room and umpteen restaurant tables, and working with as many vendors to ensure customers were satisfied with their services is no small task. From ensuring bookings were made efficiently, to organizing sufficient stock and staff at the most appropriate times, organization is another key skill I have refined over the years.    I am a hardworking, friendly, confident, and methodical individual, who can easily very easily adapt and learn new skills in a short space of time. I completed my engineering training (details below) a week before my counterparts, despite having not had any formal training in this field before this. I have my own transport, and a full UK driver’s license and no points. Diagnosing problems, and not being satisfied until they have been solved are central to my personality. As in both my home and work life, anything I came across I need to learn about enough to fix and prevent any further issues. This is why, despite working at the reception, I learnt how to fix the coffee machine, clean leaves out of the gutter from atop a ladder, install or change internet access points and POE switches, change door locks and a range of other tasks that did not fit my job profile. I am a people person, comfortable being lead, and leading a team, whichever is required of me to ensure the common end goal is completed to the best of standards. I am looking for a chance to prove myself, and my work ethic, in the right workplace.

Front of house / Cambridge Hotel, Huddersfield

Working as a receptionist of a three-star hotel situated in Huddersfield with 94 bedrooms, a conference room, a restaurant, and bar on site. Main responsibilities include checking guests in and out in a friendly manner, giving the best first and last impression of the hotel for them. Managing reservations, dealing with guest queries and complaints, assisting with invoicing and accounts for both business to consumer and business to business bookings. Organizing conference room events, liaising with internal and external vendors, and ensuring sufficient stock, staff and whatever else clients may need are available on the day. Aiding with general maintenance such as changing electronic locks, hard reset of safety deposit boxes and televisions. Ensuring quality standards are kept, from cleanliness to small details such as butter at breakfast, I take any and all opportunities to learn the intricacies of all operational areas of the Hotel, and can comfortably manage all.

Specialist skills acquired:

Able to create patch leads to T568a and T568b colour codes.
Measure and fit/pull Cat 5e ethernet cable.
Termination of Cat 5e cable from 24-way patch panel to RJ45 data outlets.
Understand CW1308 20 pair colour code.
Install 20 pair voice over data network. Both analogue and digital from krone strips to 24-way patch panel.
Install NTE5a & NTE5c master socket and LJU (Line Jack Unit).
Introduction to fibre technologies.
Correct use of a fibre splicer and preparation of fibre for termination to a distribution node.
