As a Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow certified ophthalmologist, I am here by applying with enthusiasm to the Vitreoretinal fellowship at your esteemed program. I started my journey in the UK as a Senior Clinical Fellow in Medical Retina at the Royal Free Hospital in London then at the Oxford Eye Hospital, Oxford and then moved up the ladder to be a specialty doctor in vitreo retina at St.Helens and Knowsely Teaching Hospitals with the NHS trust in the UK. Presently I work at the Queens Medical Centre at Nottingham University Hospital another NHS trust hospital as a vitreoretinal fellow. My job role in the UK as a fellow in Vitreoretina includes managing retina clinic and theaters on call. I am involved in performing many procedures under supervision like retinal detachment, macular hole surgery, trauma, advanced diabetic disease, lasers, etc. These are my number according to my logbook over the past 10 years along with the number of surgeries. 1. Vitreo retinal surgeries including Pars Plana Vitrectomy (1,275) 2. Retinal laser (PRP, Focal) 3. ND YAG Laser 4. Intravitreal injection 5. Modified Scleral buckling surgery(44) 6. Silicon oil removal 7. Scleral fixated intraocular lens surgery(86) 8. Trabeculectomy(354) 9. Phacoemulsification (5,146) 10. Small Incision Cataract Surgeries(16,323 ) In addition to my long experience in vitreoretina, I have stayed updated on the advances in the field by both attending conferences/workshops while being active in teaching. I have also been actively involved in performing and monitoring audits and quality improvement (QI) projects related to ophthalmology care. My most recent QI project was performed on patients with von Hipper Lindau Syndrome at the Oxford eye hospital with a global aim of providing a precise information related to their follow-up care. I have been a part of research projects as a collaborator and have been actively demonstrated teaching the next generation of trainees. As I build my skills in vitreoretinal diseases in a high refined well-rounded system, I am willing to contribute my global experience to the fullest potential and bring in a unique perspective. I take pride in patient centered care and keep patient safety and family satisfaction as my priority. With this expertise in vitreoretinal disease, I can become a leader in this area contributing to a patient care with utmost safety and develop collaborative projects. My international experience can be skillfully molded into enhancement of theoretical frameworks of vitreoretinal based medical education thus applying these principles to enhance patient safety and systems improvement. I come with an extensive experience in ophthalmology particularly vitreoretinal procedures from four different countries: India, Bangladesh, Nepal and the United Kingdom. My goal with this job is to provide high quality care to the patients and at the same time involved in teaching and training of medical students, fellows And staff of the department. Experience
I have a strong clinical background and training in Ophthalmology. I had completed 24 month fellowship in Vitreo retina at the Queens Medical Centre, Nottingham University Hospital and NHS Trust, UK on 2 August 2024. I am currently working as a fellow at the same place to enhance my experience in Vitreo retina. This post has provided me with experience in the management of a wide range of Retinal diseases. It has given me a better understanding of the royal college guidelines work under the NHS.

I am a confident cataract surgeon and working in Vitreo retina department to gain more experience. I had performed more than 18000 ocular surgeries. If appointed to this post, my principal focus would be to continue to provide excellent patient care with patient first policy. Over the past few months, as a Clinical Fellow, I have demonstrated that I am committed to the aims of my department and providing quality service to the patients. I am actively involved in emergency vitreo retina care. I am always interested in teaching and training of the hospital staff and medical students.
