I have worked closely with the homeless and marginalised in our society for many years and, in my own experience have seen that each individual has, gifts, talents and massive potential to achieve whatever goals or aspirations they may dream of, they just need help discovering it.

I have just finished my contract with The Brick, a homeless charity based in Wigan & Leigh, where I was the Emergency Access Intensive Housing Manager, Managing two sites across the borough. My duties included.. managing a team of staff, volunteers and security at two of our homeless sites, one at the Mercure hotel in Wigan where between 40 to 50 homeless residents reside and one at The Leigh Hub in Leigh, which is a night shelter for predominately rough sleepers. I work the night shifts where my role is to deliver a high standard of care for our guests, focusing on safeguarding and well-being. I liaise closely with other agencies including Wigan council, drug & alcohol services, mental health and complex dependency teams to deliver long term care and stability for our service users. It is a challenging role supporting vulnerable and marginalised people, every shift is different and comes with new challenges every day. In this environment,  I myself personally;  grow and learn more about the problems our society faces. 

Before joining The Brick I worked for 3 months  as the Support Centre Manger at The Beacon, which is part of Barnabus, a homeless charity based in Manchester City Centre. My role was to deliver a high quality of care to our service users who are predominantly rough sleepers, I manage a team of 3 engagement workers and many volunteers, I also took care of the safe operations of the centre.

I’ve worked with the homeless in previous employment , as a Night Shift Manager with Manchester City Mission, where I led a team of staff and volunteers to deliver care to 30 guests staying at the Narrowgate Night Shelter based in Salford.

Before the pandemic, I led a prison ministry once a month in HMP Thorncross, Warrington where I go in with my guitar as part of an outreach, this has been a fruitful ministry over the years. I also have experience in working with people who have struggled with substance misuse, helping and supporting them through recovery. 

I have gained much experience over the years of working with extremely vulnerable people, the homeless, those who struggle with addiction and ex-offenders, my desire is to continue to work the vulnerable in our society and seek social justice , healing and transformed lives.

Successfully managed my own gardening business delivering garden maintenance to a very high standard to a large customer base in Culcheth and surrounding areas.

Have bought and renovated two derelict properties in the Manchester area which I now rent out to professionals.

I live in the Culcheth area and I’m married to Shirley, we have 3 beautiful daughter, Emily , Jessica and Lydia, we also have two little Border Terriers , Ruby & Roland.
