I am a dedicated and compassionate Medical Practitioner with a strong background in Psychiatry, Gastrointestinal Medicine, Geriatric Medicine, Intensive Care/Anaesthetics, and Paediatric Respiratory Medicine. I am a  Fellow of the Royal College of Psychiatrists with a profound passion for specialising in Psychiatry. 

I bring a unique blend of expertise, dedication, and enthusiasm to the field. My journey as a clinician and a member of the prestigious Royal College underscores my commitment to advancing the field of mental health and always striving to provide exemplary patient care.

I am a doctor diverse medical background encompassing Intensive Care/Anaesthetics, General Medicine, Gastroenterology Medicine, Paediatric Medicine, General Surgery, Colorectal Surgery, and Psychiatry. Additionally,  being granted the Psychiatry Foundation Fellowship Programme has been a transformative experience that has deepened my understanding of psychiatry as a specialty. Through clinical exposure, supervision and mentorship, multidisciplinary collaboration, research and academic development, and personal and professional growth, I have gained a comprehensive appreciation for the complexities of mental health and psychiatric care.

Working in perinatal psychiatry has provided me with a unique insight into the intersection of mental health and pregnancy/postpartum periods. Witnessing the challenges faced by expectant mothers and new parents has heightened my awareness of the importance of early intervention and support in safeguarding maternal and infant well-being.

My experiences in perinatal psychiatry have underscored the significance of a holistic approach to care, addressing not only the psychiatric needs of patients but also the social, familial, and developmental factors that influence mental health during this critical period.

Engaging in taster weeks in young adult psychiatry has exposed me to the diverse spectrum of mental health conditions prevalent among adolescents and young adults. I have gained firsthand experience in diagnosing and managing disorders such as mood disorders, anxiety disorders, and emerging psychotic illnesses.

These taster weeks have reinforced my understanding of the unique challenges faced by young adults navigating the transition to adulthood, including academic stress, social pressures, and identity exploration. I have developed a deep appreciation for the importance of tailored interventions and support systems in promoting mental well-being during this developmental stage.
 

My exposure to perinatal psychiatry and young adult psychiatry has deepened my understanding of the nuanced complexities of mental health across different life stages. I have cultivated empathy and sensitivity towards individuals facing psychiatric challenges, recognizing the profound impact these disorders can have on individuals, families, and communities.

Witnessing the resilience and courage of patients striving to overcome mental health obstacles has inspired me to advocate for equitable access to quality psychiatric care and to work towards reducing stigma surrounding mental illness.

Intensive Care/Anaesthetics: 

My experience in Intensive Care/Anaesthetics has honed my ability to handle critical situations with precision and efficiency. I am competent providing comprehensive care to patients in high-pressure environments, ensuring optimal safety and well being. I am also familiar with complex medical technology such as ventilation support and renal filtration.

General Medicine: 

Having worked in General Medicine, I bring a broad understanding of various medical conditions and have developed strong diagnostic and treatment skills. My experience allows me to contribute effectively in managing a diverse range of medical cases.

Gastroenterology Medicine: 

In Gastroenterology Medicine, I have demonstrated proficiency in diagnosing and managing gastrointestinal disorders. My approach involves utilizing evidence-based practices to optimize patient outcomes.

Paediatric Medicine: 

Working in Paediatric Medicine has equipped me to handle the unique challenges of caring for children. I am dedicated to providing compassionate and family-centred care, ensuring the well being of paediatric patients.
