About nicole mcallister:

I thrive when working in public facing roles.

I am a hardworking individual that has been working since the age of 16, alongside school and university and into my professional career. My work ranges from working in an acute hospital setting where I would care for and support patients daily, to several years of working within the hospitality sector. Both of which have provided me with an excellent set of transferable skills which would enable me to flourish within this role.

Experience

  • As an occupational therapist I have the responsibility to assess and treat patients with a person-centred approach.
  • I developed exceptional communication skills in order to deal with high pressure situations such as upset family members, emotional patients and to getting my voice heard within the wider multi-disciplinary team.
  • I have shown my leadership skills by taking on a student who I supervised and taught the practice of occupational therapy. I learned the benefits of supervision, reflection and goal setting.
  • My ability to problem-solve in complex situations has grown throughout this job as I completed assessments, identified problems, and provided appropriate solutions for patients.
  • I have my own caseload which I prioritise and organise myself in a time effective manner.
