Nuno Lopes

I am a holder of BA in architecture with a First-Class Honours from the University of East London since 2017. While already a student I participated in the design competition sponsored by Sir Robert McAlpine and British Land and I was selected to work on the welfare facilities of two of the company's major projects in the Broadgate estate in London. The uniqueness of that project consisted of making use of existing materials from other buildings that were to be demolished, giving them in such a way a new life. During my time with Sir Robert McAlpine I gained valuable experience working in a team of five alongside with engineers and subcontractors and I was heavily involved in the delivery and technical design of most aspects of that project. To celebrate the end of the project my team organised the exhibition titled “Reflections on Broadgate, Past, Present and Future” for the London Festival of Architecture.
