I am currently a Business Development Executive based in Chelmsford, in June 2024 I started looking for areas to continue my learning journey and build new skills. I was curious about data and started learning SQL, R, Tableau and advanced spreadsheet skills. Now I see this as the career path I want to pursue long term!

I have a  2:1 science degree, this has helped me as it has given me both an analytical and systematic way of problem solving, as well as giving me some experience with statistical tests, crucial for data analysis. This experience will continue to support and advance my growing data analysis toolkit.

Post education I wanted experience in an office based environment.

I've spent the last 23 months working at a medical wholesaler in Chelmsford. I started the role as a junior sales position but was quickly transitioned into a business development role handling larger scale customers such a major retailers. 

I had interest in the UK Public Tender market, which was a market I feel we could enter, I have run all our tender projects from sourcing, managing, presenting and bid execution with bid success. A large part of this has involved working with foreign manufacturer's and managing our bids as team leader in tandem with their team.

Whilst this role has given me a lot and they are keen for me to be with them long term, I cannot get away from how interesting and fulfilling I find data analysis, a role which doesn't really exist in my current environment. 

My most relevant education is my degree in Sport & Exercise Science. This degree is best summarised as Biology/Chemistry/Physics in the context of sport.

This degree while not directly linked to drug discovery, does provide a similar framework in terms of familiarity with scientific ways of working as well as clinical studies. There is also crossover in regards to human anatomy and physiology, especially in regards to energy systems. I have lots of lab experience which will translate across when designing and reporting on experiments.

Aside from formal education I have completed Googles 6 month industry ready Data Analytics Professional Certificate, as well as enrolled on datacamp primarily focusing on strengthening my skills with R.
