Olivia Gould

My name in Olivia and I am originally from Melbourne, Australia. 

I am looking for work as a Junior/Assistant Interior Designer. I have a background in the Interior Design Industry, having completed a Diploma and Associate Degree in this field at RMIT University (Melbourne, Australia). I have decided to make the move to London as I am eager to challenge myself in a new environment and expand on my current skill-set and knowledge of the industry.

Having gained experience in a range of roles in the Interior Design field, I am particularly fond of my experiences in Interior Design firms as I was able to see first hand what the design process looked like from the get go.

Working at Sisalla and The Inside Project, my main tasks were to liaise with suppliers, create FFE schedules, 3D modelling/rendering, documentation through to creating concept and final presentations. Working on these stages of the design process, gave me a first hand insight into how crucial each stage is and the detail and hard work that must go into this. I particular enjoyed how no two projects were the same. I felt so inspired and privileged to be a part of each unique experience.

In my most recent role as a Showroom and Account Executive at "Sanderson Design Group". I became familiar in working with members of the Architectural and Design industry. Working in a client-focused role enabled me to view the industry from a different angle in this role and it has allowed me to work with a broad range of clientele and build strong relationships.

With my passion for interior design I was able to pair this with my knowledge and understanding of the brands we offer to assist designers and architects in selections for their projects.

Working in customer facing roles has taught me exceptional time management and organizational skills which are crucial in the running of a successful business. Understanding the needs and managing expectations is at the forefront of my mind when having interactions with customers. This has taught me that I am able to adapt to any situation faced and find a suitable resolution that results in a win for the business and leaves the customer feeling positive with the outcome.

I have a great passion for Interior Design as well as the Design industry as a whole and I couldn’t imagine being in any other field. I enjoy being surrounded by beautiful products, textiles and wallpapers. It allows me to show off my creative flair and assist customers to do the same.

I have experience working as a Junior/Assistant Interior Designer for two practices. I also have extensive experience in the Interior Product industry having worked for multiple suppliers in showroom settings ranging from Paint/Architectural coatings, High-End Furniture/lighting and accessories, Textiles (fabrics and wallpapers), and finally Bathroom and Kitchen fixtures and fittings.
