I am a self-driven, conscientious individual with plenty of enthusiasm and a passion for learning new skills. Despite my age, I have years of experience working in a variety of different working environments, from operating heavy equipment to working in restaurants, to the retail industry.

I am eagerly searching to begin a new career where I can learn new skills and put my existing abilities to good use.

2017 - Present: Machine Operator at Harsco Environmental, Sheffield

I began working at Harsco shortly after moving to Sheffield, where I have been a key part of various areas of work on site, including metal recovery, clean up duties, and operating machinery such as skip trucks, loading shovels, articulated dump trucks and haulers. 

This job demands exceptional personal responsibility and competence. The operation of these machines of up to 100+ tons in weight requires a serious level of focus at all times, not only from a health and safety point of view, but also in the sense that unnecessary mistakes could prove incredibly expensive for the company. 

As a driver of these machines, it was also my responsibility to ensure proper maintenance and upkeep, carrying out pre-shift inspections each day, and routine maintenance such as greasing, refuelling etc as well as maintaining communication with the equipment workshop.

During my time at Harsco, I have also been responsible for delivering training to new employees in certain areas. This is not only due to my skill level and experience in the industry, but also the fact that I possess a high level of confidence and excellent communication skills.

September 2017 - October 2017: Sales Assistant at Card Factory

Prior to working at Harsco, I spent a brief time working at Card Factory at Meadowhall, Sheffield as a sales assistant. While this didn’t last long due to the opportunity that I was presented with at Harsco, I was able to grasp the principles of working in this position very quickly and enjoyed working as a team to provide good customer service to the public.

June 2015 - August 2015: Cleaner at Ocean Blue 

After leaving school, I spent several months working as a cleaner at the Ocean Blue holiday resort in Trevarrian, Cornwall. Here, I was responsible for cleaning and preparing houses to a very high standard, prior to people checking in for their stay. A high level of teamwork was required in this job, as we worked in pairs to clean each house and apartment. Furthermore, the role at Ocean Blue demanded extreme attention to detail and thoroughness as the resort was certainly considered prestigious and of a very high standard.

May 2014 - September 2014: Kitchen Porter at Wax Watergate Bay

As a summer and weekend job whilst studying at Treviglas Community College, I worked part time as a kitchen porter where I was responsible for maintaining cleanliness of the kitchen, washing dishes and also providing assistance to the chefs as and when required.

Silver Duke Of Edinburgh Award

During my last year at Treviglas Community College, I was given the opportunity to take part in the Duke Of Edinburgh award. This entailed training as a team with other students to prepare for an independent walking expedition, covering 19km per day for three days and two nights. This proved very challenging but hugely beneficial for my teamwork skills at an early age, where I learned the skills of map reading, independent camping and long distance walking.

Air Cadets (2011-2013)

Although a cadet organization would not conventionally be categorised as education, I felt I should give it its own section on this page, since my time with the Air Cadets proved to teach me many skills and lessons. Spending several years with 2533 Wadebridge DF, I was taught many principles of military life, such as punctuality, cleanliness, and excellent teamwork skills.

I was able to do this through the many experiences that I was given at the Air Cadets, such as:
