Experience
October 2018 – May 2019
Claims Handler | Admiral Insurance | Swansea.
In this position, I was required to take calls from policyholders during the process of claiming on their insurance policies. These calls were often made from the scene of accidents and carried with them a great deal of responsibility for the client’s welfare. My role was to process all of the information a client provided, inform them of the legal requirements that fell to them and any financial impact that would be incurred and arrange roadside assistance. This was a temporary role I filled during my undergraduate degree.
June 2021 – March 2022
Waiter and Bartender | The Cloth Ear | Belfast.
When working as a waiter and bartender at The Cloth Ear my responsibilities were to ensure a high standard of presentation of myself, my workstation and of the food and drink being served. Given the reputation of the restaurant and the hotel it is part of, expectations of the guests were set high and I am proud to say I was commended on several occasions for my quality of service. This role often involved working twelve-hour shifts or longer. I left this role in order to better accommodate the work required on my master’s thesis.
March 2022 – October 2022
Receptionist | Charles Hurst | Belfast.
In this position, I was front of house staff for a Jaguar-Land Rover dealership. My responsibilities in this role included, but were not limited to, scheduling appointments between our sales-people and clients, booking rooms and making reservations for out-of-country clients who were flying in to purchase vehicles, ensuring refreshments were served to clients and providing clients with all the necessary information about purchase and delivery timelines. I left this role once I had completed my masters in order to work full-time.
October 2022 – March 2024
Operations Analyst | Citi | Belfast.
In this role I was responsible for the analysis and completion of foreign exchange trades on the world market. I monitored trades from one currency to another, rectifying errors and liaising with stakeholders. This was an intensely analytical role that required a broad set of skills and deep knowledge of the functions of international banking. I left this role to travel South East Asia in the spring of 2024.
