Owen McEvoy

I've been working as a full stack developer since 2022. During that time I've worked on multiple projects. My preferred stack is Vue, Laravel and postgres but i have worked with other stacks as well. I also prefer to work using Linux but have worked professionally with linux, windows, and mac. 

My most recently completed project used knockout.js, django, postgres, elastic search, rabbitmq and an arches heritage asset database. It was dockerised and used kubernetes. 

There was also a PWA made to accompany it which I was heavily involved with designing and creating. It used Capacitor with vue.

Currently I'm modernising a legacy dotnet framework web application and setting up CI/CD for this using gitlab. 

I have a particular interest in working with open source technologies and I've made contributions to the open invention neteork and the arches project. I have spoken at two arches conferences including 2023 at the Getty museum and 2025 in Belfast castle. Both of my talks were recorded by the organisers and are available online on youtube. I've also attended FOSDEM 3 times but haven't built the courage to present at it yet.

I'm still early into my software development career but I believe I've shown that I'm ready to grab opportunities and work hard to make the most out of them.

Since 2022 I've been working at Galvia Digital as a full stack developer. During that time I've been outsourced Wright Bus, Sensata, and the Department of Communities. 
As part of my professional role I've also delivered Technology Mentoring as part of the Digital Surge and Go Succeed Programmes.
