MAXIS GBN is a leading global employee benefits network offering a range of insurance and health and wellness solutions, helping the world’s largest multinational employers retain talent and protect their people.
Chief Marketing & Innovation Officer
Appointed to build MAXIS brand at the start of the joint venture between AXA and MetLife to integrate their operations and create a network of 140 insurance companies over 120 markets, providing comprehensive employee benefits solutions to multinational employees. Built and led team of 14 across three functions and managed €2.5M budget. SMCR approved.
Leadership
- Drove growth of MAXIS from challenger to joint #1 brand in five years, as Executive Committee lead for Brand, Marketing, Culture, Employee Engagement and CSR, doubling growth of premium to US$2BN (16% year-on-year growth) and achieving 67% client and broker score.
- Developed and led full-service marketing function for a high-growth, international business, recognised as blueprint for success by AXA and MetLife, built three teams that covered all marketing and events, communications, PR and content, employee experience, digital, data and innovation.
Brand & Marketing
- Spearheaded brand and marketing strategy that established MAXIS as leading global employee benefits network with strong market presence and credibility, serving over 300 multinational employers (including eight of the ten largest US corporations by market cap) and seven million end-user employees. Won 12 industry awards in eight years.
- Pioneered global, multi-channel activities across events, advertising and sponsorships, digital, product marketing and network engagement. Created content strategy that gained high response and engagement rates, including employee-related content (digital portals, LinkedIn) and editorials and white papers (trade publications, international media).
- Built best-in-class pre-sales operations, implementing digital systems, optimising process and hiring top RFP writers to ensure standardised, high-quality and accurate proposal development. Enhanced brand representation, regulatory compliance and information consistency, driving a more efficient and effective sales pipeline.
- Directed rollout of martech and analytics platforms, enabling data-driven evaluation of all external communications and campaigns. Optimised marketing automation to enhance targeting, personalisation and ROI measurement, transforming campaign effectiveness and strategic decision-making.
Digital & Innovation
- Led development of first-to-market digital solutions that transformed client and network user experience, launched digital and data innovation lab that accelerated use of digital technology with MAXIS first in industry to create interactive digital portals for clients / network partners alongside digitised, interactive dashboard reporting and cost estimation tools.
Employee Experience & Internal Communications
- Pioneered employee engagement strategy that grew eNPS to 89%, created EVP, employee recognition scheme and engagement activities (business change, wellness, personal development) via webinars, committees, newsletters, surveys and digital global learning hub. Wrote CEO’s communications and managed annual Town Hall schedule.
- Mobilised positive organisational culture, with 99% of staff believing MAXIS is a diverse, inclusive organisation that allows them to be themselves. Defined vision and values, management principles and standards, and new policies (agile working, menopause). Led HQ redevelopment into friendly, collaborative hybrid space, gaining 100% positive feedback.
Corporate Social Responsibility – MAXIS for Good
- Launched CSR Committee and led creation of seven-pillar strategy that integrated CSR into all business decision-making; guided design and implementation of programmes and communications across each pillar, with initiatives ranging from people and community to environment, conduct and ethics, clients, solutions and procurement.
- Built culture of CSR across the organisation, with circa 15% of employee population actively involved in CSR Committee and circa 40% involved via local offices and communities globally. Maintained meaningful engagement through activities and training.
