Paul Loudon

I am primarily a freelance illustrator with strong comic-book leanings: actual traditional inks, coloured digitally are my passion. Though I have recently ended a full time design role with All In The Loop, Wilmslow; so you could consider me to be a designer also.

Experience-wise I have worked as a freelance illustrator for the mainstay of my career (established 2006), following my degree in graphic design.

Design-wise my role was creating visuals for event apps. There was in each case, a need to maintain client branding and legibility. This process was carried out several times a day as I usually balanced several projects at once. Use of imagery was key as well as sleek and sophisticated UX interfaces.

As a freelance illustrator, one recent project involves creating the visuals for “Reel Britannia”, a documentary series currently screening on Brit Box. Previous clients include Manchester United and the BBC, you could say that’s where the creative side of my career takes more a front seat; utilising my own brand of comic-book style flare and dynamism.

Storyboards form a big part of my work. Recently I was involved with storyboarding a short series: “Hey You What If?” for Children’s BBC (CBBC). Other 'boards include a commercial for Huawei and a short horror film shown at a big festival.
