About Philip Collier:

After completing my degree is Communication, Media and Culture, I began work in business development within the tech sector. 
 

Throughout my experience, especially with Kofax (where I sat within the wider marketing department) and in light of my studies, I realised that my real area of interest lay outside the sales team and within the marketing department. Especially in the area of brand image and customer communications.

I now have a fair amount of experience in authoring copy for campaigns, executing those campaigns and the data analysis that comes with that and am looking to pivot away from business development into the marketing sphere full time. 

Experience

Redgate: Sales Development Representative (June 2019 - March 2019)

  • Responsible for the communications with and qualification of predominantly inbound leads within EMEA. The focus being primarily on SMEs across multiple different verticals, including finance, healthcare and technology.

Redgate: Business Development Representative (March 2020 - December 2020)

  • I was promoted to the position of BDR where my remit changed, moving away from qualification of inbound leads to outbound prospecting within enterprise level accounts within EMEA. This included gathering leads from a variety of platforms and the creation of multitouch outreach campaigns in line with the broader strategy for each account using both mass outreach and more tailored approaches when applicable.

Kofax: Business Development Representative (April 2021 - March 2022)

  • My work at Kofax was similar to that at Redgate however with a slight change of emphasis. Whereas at Redgate I sat within the wider sales team, at Kofax, the BDR position fell under the marketing department. This meant for a lot more strategic work, setting and discussing broader strategy for the accounts I was responsible for (in the UK&I market) as well as much more visibility of the broader marketing practices that made that possible. 

 

 

Education

BA: Communications, Media and Culture - Oxford Brookes University

A bachelor‘s degree focussed on communication theory as well as research techniques with some exposure to design tools (the Adobe Suite). The most professional useful areas of my degree I have found to be on branding and public brand perception.
