Pooja Chavda

Hi! 

I have been working in the mental health sector for over 4 years and wish to expand my horizons to work abroad in mental health within the UAE. I am passionate in aiding recovery and promoting positive mental health and strive to create an environment and relationship that is safe and supportive for clients. 

I recently volunteered and did back packing across South East Asia and Sri-Lanka for 3 months and I gained an insightful perspective of mental health. I noticed the “shame” and “stigma” continuing to be surrounded on mental health and the further impact this plays on individuals and its communities. I facilitated a series of well-being workshops to raise awareness of mental health and supporting individuals to cultivate self-care in daily practices and I wish to continue this work further, across countries where stigma continues to play a strong factor in limited access to mental health services. 

I have worked in various mental health domains from community mental health sectors to private sectors and practices. Most of my work has involved working with young to older adults with with moderate to complex mental health difficulties including anxiety and depression to more severe difficulties including personality disorders and psychosis. 

I completed my Masters in 2022 in Psychotherapy and Counselling. 

in 2019 I completed my Bachelors Degree in Psychology.
