The Electrospinning Company – Quality Technician (January 2021 to Sept 2024)

• Reporting to the Quality Manager as part of a small team.
• One of my key achievements was designing my own lab, where I am fully responsible for maintaining the equipment and area under ISO 7 standards.
• Responsible for certificate reviews of incoming raw materials and analysis of finished products for their quality according to defined specifications.
• Quality control testing at different stages of the manufacturing process - using standard and specialised, laboratory equipment and following defined procedures.
• Part of the Product Road Map team whereby I am responsible for designing quality control procedures for R and D products looking to go through to production.
• Process Improvement actions and Quality Investigations relating to NCRs.
• Quality documentation reviewing, log books, auditing, batch records, SOPs and EMS read outs.
• Facilitated internal audits and Health and Safety walk rounds.
• Written numerous SOPs and material specifications among other quality documentation.
• Worked with the wider team to ensure the efficient running of the site and that deadlines and targets are met for customer orders.

Scapa Healthcare (Temporary Contract) – QC Technician (December 2019- June 2020)

• Responsible for;
  • First off checks for product lines in manufacturing.
  • Raw materials and incoming goods testing.
  • Final product testing for release for shipment to customer.
  • Packaging tests – leak and burst testing.

Abbott Diabetes Care (Temporary Contract) – Laboratory Technician (October 2017 – November 2019)

• Working within two divisions; Customer complaints, return products investigations and product testing.
• Working with glucose monitoring equipment used by diabetics that have been returned by the customer.
• Testing the returned customer products to ascertain what the defect with each item was and conducting the relevant investigations to try and resolve the issue and document proven conclusions.
• Using a variety of different glucose and ketone monitoring samples to ascertain if the correct readings were given in a variety of controlled environments to determine product viability.
• Responsible for conformity to GXP standards across the controlled tests undertaken.
• I have obtained an advanced understanding of electrical controls and advanced solutions behind diabetic care products within this specialist role.

Patheon Pharmaceuticals – QC Microbiology Laboratory Technician (September 2015 – August 2017)

• Setting up and operation of autoclave units, WFI water sampling, collecting and analysing samples then preparing the relevant solutions, cultures or specimens. TOC and conductivity testing.
• Manual product inspections and quality checking, working within the prep to clean room airlock transfer chamber.
• Clean room preparation and sampling product for testing.
• Responsible for stock control and chemical disposal, alongside ensuring equipment is kept in good working order.

Smith and Reed Recruitment (Fixed Contract) – Systems Administrator (August 2014 – August 2015)

• Management of staff rota across six locations.
• Ran a large-scale project to modernise the record system for AP/AR and general administration from a paper system onto Sageline 50.
