Masters of Science, Financial Economics Cardiff University / Prifysgol Caerdydd, Cardiff, United Kingdom Grade: Distinction Research Dissertation - Exchange rates and oil prices in developed economies: Examined the monthly relationship between real effective exchange rates and real crude oil prices along with two other variables, real money supply, and real stock index prices, for a net oil-exporting country, Canada, and two net oil-importing countries, Germany & Japan using VAR and VEC models. Investigated potential Granger causal relations and carried out forecasts through Generalized Impulse Response Functions and Forecast Error Variance Decompositions. Grade: Distinction.
