About Ren Priestly:

Having thorough experience as a laboratory technician I am capable of prioritizing and problem solving in a fast-paced environment. Flexibility, adaptability, and rebilablity are skills I have recieved high praise for exceeding expectations in quality and productivity. Trained as a chemistry tech I have also trained and supported multiple other departments and trusted to perform tasks outside of my contracted responsibilities as listed on my CV.  Working in a GMP laboratory I have experience with CAPAs, change controls, ALCOA+, exceptions, and other aspects of following protocols for high quality products and reliable data. This has prepared me to work independently and take initiative i.e implementing change controls, coupled with my knowledge and skills practiced at the University of Glasgow.

Studying complexed ideas and data during my degree developed my problem solving abilities, analytical analysis and logical thinking. Skills that prepared me for my future career include coding skills,  regularly preparing reagents according to method, analyzing data such as NMR,HPLC, MS,  and touch typing etc,.During my time in research I regularly prepared reagents, followed and wrote methods and performed timely experiments. Writing my own method for the synthesis of a RiPPs  gave me experience in synthesising, analysing and researching various methods and adapting them optimising purity and  time efficiency.

I was well suited to my position in events, as an inherently confident, positive, and approachable person, I was placed under a management position due to frequent highly positive feedback. Regularly adapting to different venues and events I have gained skills including but not limited to inventory, effectively presenting and communicating, organisation and attention to detail.
