As a highly motivated Mechanical Engineer with a 2:1 Honours degree, I possess a strong foundation in engineering principles and a passion for problem-solving. As the Lead Composite Materials Engineer for the IMechE Railway Challenge, I spearheaded the design and implementation of the composite material layover for our mini locomotive. My primary task involved the application of epoxy glass fibre, where I oversaw the hand-laying techniques to ensure precision and structural integrity. I collaborated closely with the team to optimize the aerodynamic properties, conducted thorough testing and analysis, and ensured compliance with safety and performance standards. My role was pivotal in enhancing the locomotive's durability and efficiency, showcasing our innovative approach and technical prowess in the competition.
